Summary
When you play our Games, we collect and store certain personal data about you, which we use for various purposes as explained in this Policy. Most of this data is necessary to allow you to access and play our Games.
However, in some cases, we may ask you to provide additional personal data or use your data for purposes that are not essential to the functioning of the Games. In such cases, you are not required to provide this data and have the right to refuse its use (if such data is used for other purposes). For example, we may ask for your email address to recover a password. We will never use it for other purposes without explicitly informing you beforehand and giving you the option to refuse or give your consent, as applicable.
Some of our Games display advertisements, and on many devices, these advertisements are personalized using a device-specific advertising identifier. You can disable ad personalization for all your applications by disabling the advertising identifier in your device settings. However, you will still receive advertisements, but they will not be personalized. More information about advertising and advertising identifiers can be found in sections 6 and 7.
You have the right to object to the use of your personal data and to exercise other rights to access and control their use. These rights include:
- The right to request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- The right to request the correction of incorrect data concerning you;
- The right to request the deletion of personal data concerning you;
- The right to file a complaint with the competent authorities if you believe we are not complying with the applicable data protection regulations. Your rights and how to exercise them are detailed in section 4.
Please note that if you delete a Game from your device, we will not be informed, and your personal data will remain stored with us. If you wish to access your data or request its deletion, please follow the instructions in section 5.

Who does this policy apply to?
This policy applies to anyone using the Games or contacting us in any other way, such as via email, phone, or our websites like cinequizz.fr.
When does this policy apply?
This policy concerns the processing of personal data by Timepilot. The term "personal data" refers to any information that can identify a living person, alone or combined with other information, as well as any other data qualified as personal under applicable legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What legal bases do we rely on to process your personal data?
Timepilot can only use your personal data if a valid legal basis allows it. We rely on the following legal bases:
-
Performance of a contract: We use this legal basis when processing personal data is necessary to provide a Game, product, or service requested by the User. This includes the ability to log into an account, play Games, enhance the gaming experience (e.g., adjusting difficulty based on progression), compete with other players or play in teams, complete transactions in Games, and benefit from Timepilot's customer support.
-
Legitimate interest: Some data processing is based on Timepilot's legitimate interest, such as improving our Games, displaying personalized advertisements, or preventing fraud and illegal activities. For Timepilot to rely on this basis, our legitimate interest must not override the fundamental rights, freedoms, and interests of Users. You have the right to object to this processing and can contact us anytime for more information on how we assessed this balance between our interests and yours.
-
Legal obligation: We use this legal basis when we must process personal data to comply with a legal obligation applicable to Timepilot, such as retaining financial information for accounting and tax reporting purposes.
-
Consent: If we ask for your consent for certain processing and you accept, we will use your personal data only within the scope of the use to which you consented. For example, if we ask to use your email address for purposes requiring your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time, and we will then cease all future processing based on it.
What Are Your Rights?
Right to Object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data that we base on our legitimate interest, for reasons related to your particular situation. If you object and the processing is based on a legitimate interest, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling and legitimate reasons for this processing that override your privacy interests.
You can also object to receiving direct marketing from us or to the use of your personal data for profiling related to direct marketing. In this case, we will stop using your data for these purposes.
Additionally, you can opt out of personalized ads based on your profile. You can find more information about this in sections 6 and 7.
However, please note that even if you object to certain processing activities, Timepilot may continue these processes if they are based on another legal basis, for example, to provide you with the Games (if you still wish to use them) or to comply with legal obligations.
Right to Restriction
You can request that the use of some of your personal data be restricted, for example, if the data is inaccurate or if you believe that Timepilot no longer needs this data for the purposes described in this policy, or if you have objected to the use of your personal data based on a legitimate interest.
Right of Access and Rectification
Upon request, we will provide you with more details on how we use your personal data. The information you are entitled to includes the personal data that Timepilot processes about you, its source, the purposes for which it is used, and the identities of the parties to whom this data has been provided. Timepilot may charge a reasonable administrative fee for repeated requests. If a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, particularly due to its repetitive nature, Timepilot may also refuse to comply with the request. We may also ask you to specify the information you wish to access.
You also have the right to request, at any time, the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten")
You can request that Timepilot erase your personal data, for example, if you have closed an account with us and the personal data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, if you withdraw your consent and no other legal basis for processing exists, or if you object to the use of your personal data based on a legitimate interest. Your personal data may also be deleted under other circumstances. Please contact Timepilot for more information on the erasure of your personal data.
Right to Withdraw Consent
If you have given Timepilot consent to process your personal data, you can withdraw this consent at any time for any future processing based on that consent.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive the personal data that you have provided to us and that we process based on your consent or to perform a contract with you, in a commonly used and machine-readable format. You also have the right to transmit this data to another data controller, where technically feasible.
Access Your Data or Request to Be Forgotten
If you want to access your data or request the deletion of the data we hold about you, please send us an email. If you need help with this process, please contact customer support.
When you request access to your information, you will receive the personal data we have about you concerning all our Games.
When you request to be forgotten, we will delete all personal information we have about you in all our Games. This means you will lose your progress and purchases in all Games created by Timepilot, and we will not be able to restore them.
For any request, please contact customer support.
Advertisements
Some of our Games display advertisements. These may include banners, full-screen ads, or short videos. In most of these Games, you can remove ads through an in-app purchase. Additionally, you may sometimes have the option to earn rewards, such as an extra life, by watching a short video advertisement.
We use Google's AdMob to display ads in our mobile application. AdMob may collect information about your device, such as your device ID, geolocation data (if enabled), and interactions with ads. This information is used to deliver personalized ads and analyze ad performance.
To learn more about how Google collects and uses this information, please refer to their privacy policy.
You can manage your ad preferences in the app settings.
Advertising Identifiers
Advertising identifiers are IDs that devices, such as mobile phones, provide to identify the device to advertising partners. This identifier is used by advertisers to deliver more relevant personalized ads in apps and Games.
You can opt out of receiving personalized ads on your phone by disabling the advertising identifier on your device. The exact procedures vary from one device to another, but generally, you can change this setting in the privacy section of your device's preferences.
Please note that even if you disable the advertising identifier, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your profile and may therefore be less relevant to you.
How Long Will Personal Data Be Retained?
Timepilot will retain and use your personal data for as long as you have an account with us and for as long as we deem necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. This means that we will use different categories of data for different periods.
For example, we will use contact and login information, gameplay history, and device-related data for as long as you play our Games and for as long as we need to provide you with your account in future Games.
We will also retain payment details for a longer period to meet legal obligations such as accounting and financial reporting. You may contact us at any time for more information on the retention periods of different categories of personal data.

Your personal data will be transferred to and processed by third-party providers and contractors that perform services for Timepilot (data processors). These companies may be located both within and outside the EU.
All third-party providers and contractors must follow Timepilot's instructions, comply with applicable written data processing agreements, and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures for personal data protection.
Third parties may be categorized as follows:
-
Core Infrastructure We host our server infrastructure using Amazon AWS. Your personal data will be stored with these entities, either within the EU or in the United States.
-

Timepilot may be required to provide personal data to competent authorities (e.g., tax authorities or law enforcement) in accordance with applicable laws and to meet legal obligations in each jurisdiction where Timepilot operates, to the extent permitted by applicable data protection laws. In the event of a data breach, some personal data may need to be provided to the relevant data protection authorities.
Links to Third-Party Websites and Third-Party Advertisements
The advertisements we display in the Games may promote not only Timepilot's products and services but also those of third parties. Timepilot is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other websites or applications, even if you access them through links in the Games, ads in the Games, or web page ads while playing the Games. Timepilot recommends reviewing the policy of each website you visit and contacting its owner or operator if you have concerns or questions.
Additionally, if you access the Games from a third-party website or social network (e.g., Google), Timepilot is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners or operators of that third-party website and recommends that you review their policies and contact them if you have any concerns or questions.
To Which Countries Will Personal Data Be Transferred?
Your personal data will be transferred to companies in other countries, both within and outside the EU, that we have engaged to help provide you with the Games and enable you to play them. Countries outside the EU may not offer the same level of personal data protection as your country. In such cases, Timepilot will ensure that the recipient parties in these countries adequately protect the personal data. Adequate protection typically involves imposing contractual obligations on the recipient in accordance with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which guarantee that the recipient maintains the same high level of data confidentiality and security as practiced by Timepilot.
